Yes, there are companies that have made the commitment to take ownership of the entire replacement window process. These companies
manufacturer their own products and install them with their own employees. By doing this, they have total control of the process from
beginning to end. The obvious advantage with sole source responsibility like this is that you only have one company to deal with if an issue
arises.
With divided responsibility, even if you have two warranties, there is a greater probability that the companies will play the warranties off
against one another. The manufacturer will blame the problem on installation and the company providing the installation will blame the
problem on the manufacturer. When this happens, the consumer is left trying to decide who is responsible and figuring out how to pursue
their claim.
If someone tells you they make their own products and install them with their own employees, ask to have this in writing. Ask to visit their
factory. While this may sound like a little too much work, it is nothing compared to trying to sort out an issue after it has occured.
