In most cases, the answer is no. Don't be fooled into thinking you're dealing directly with a manufacturer just because a store may be
named after a well-known brand. Be cautious of fast-talking salespeople that gloss over and minimize the importance of having a
company guarantee, claiming the manufacturer's warranty is all you need since they are a licensed dealer. In most cases, you will be
dealing with three different companies. The manufacturer of the window or door, the company from which you purchase the products, and
the subcontractor they use to install the products in your home.
You need to be clear on what each of these groups are covering and what they are not. Don’t assume, be certain. For example, most
manufacturers’ warranties clearly exclude installation. In fact, if the product is not installed properly, it will typically void the manufacturer’s
warranty.
3. Does a manufacturer’s warranty cover both the product and the installation?
