The Learning Center
As a consumer, you are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act passed by the federal government in 1975. It requires
manufacturers and sellers of consumer products to provide customers with detailed information about warranty coverage in writing.
However, as the consumer, you need to be proactive about your warranty coverage and find out what's not covered by the manufacturer,
and what, if anything, is covered by the sales organization or the installer. Take the time to read that infamous "fine print" yourself. It
contains all the valuable information you will need to know if something does go wrong at some future date.
Knowing exactly what is covered under the warranty and by learning as much as you can about the manufacturer, its policies, and the
company from which you're buying the windows before you buy could save you a lot of time and money in the end. Don't hesitate to ask
questions if something isn't clear.
