ENTRY DOORS The Learning Center There are plenty of accents available to help you fully customize your entryway to your needs and desires: * Decorative Glass - all door types are available with decorative glass. Most doors have insulated glass for energy efficiency. In general they have three pieces of glass, with the interior and exterior pieces being smooth, flat glass. Generally, the decorative panel will have beveled, etched or stained glass with genuine brass, patina or pewter caming (joining strips for segmented glass). The glass may be one large piece which can come in either full, half or oval sizes. The door may also have a grille that separates the glass into several smaller individual lights. * Side-lites - are available for all types of doors. You may use one side-lite on either side of the door or have one on each side. * Transoms - are glass panels that fit on top of the door. They are available for all types of doors, in three distinct shapes: arch, ellipse and box. * In-glass blinds - some doors have adjustable blinds made inside the glass pane. * Decorative Hardware - door hardware comes in a wide range of decorative styles and finishes, with many of them having a lifetime anti-tarnish warranty. New doors can also come with kick-plates, mail slots, door knockers and peep-sites.   10. What options and accents should I consider for my entry door? < back to list of questions about entry doors
