Numerous factors, including the frame and sash materials, how they are engineered and built, the weather stripping and how it is
engineered into the product, the type of glass used (single-, double-, or triple-pane), the type of spacer system, the type of low-emissivity
coating on the glass, and the presence of argon or krypton gas in the glass system. Finally, one of the more critical, but generally
overlooked factors, is proper installation. A poor installation will not only reduce the overall energy efficiency of the product; it can also
reduce comfort and increase maintenance.
