WINDOW CONDENSATION The Learning Center Drapes and other window coverings do not cause window condensation, but they can contribute to the problem by restricting the flow of warm room air over the glass surface.  Therefore, condensation is more apt to occur when drapes are closed and shades are pulled down.  Generally opening the drapes will eliminate the condensation unless the humidity levels are too high.            < back to list of questions about window condensation
