While price is important, even more important is the value you receive for what you paid. Take the time to understand what you’re getting for your money. Search for the investment that gives you the greatest value, not the lowest price.
Defining Value Value is defined as the worth, importance, or usefulness of something to somebody. You, as a consumer, must recognize the value in a contractor’s products and workmanship and believe that the contractor can offer you the best solution to your problem or needs before making the investment with the company. If you choose a contractor or product based on price alone, chances are very high that you won’t be satisfied with the quality of the product or workmanship in the future. You will then have to spend even more money to remedy the situation. Most times, the best deal isn’t in the cheapest price because later on it becomes more expensive to replace poor quality later. Getting the greatest value is feeling like you received more value than you actually paid for.
Beware Of These Selling Tactics Beware of a company who advertise sunbelievably low prices compared to the competition. Chances are high that the company will ‘sell up’ and you won’t get the lowest advertised price. Companies that significantly cut prices often are probably overcharging in the first place or leaving something out of the job to get to that low price. Beware of companies who start high on price and ‘sell down’ to a low quality product. Always consider the extras that aren’t included in the original price. Definitely don’t trust prices you get over the phone. A legitimate company can’t give you a valid price on something they can’t see. Most importantly, don’t feel pressured to buy if you’re not ready. A reputable company will respect your need for more time to make a decision.
